General Data Protection Regulation - GDRP

The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area.

XMIR is hosted in a country inside the European Economic Area, and while the GDRP went into effect as of May 25, 2018 in the EU countries, there are procedures for the directive to be effective in the European Economic Area that has yet to be completed by the EU. Only then can the local Parliaments write the directive into law of the European Economic Area country in question.

For Norway, the government has announced that the GDRP can earliest be in effect in July 2018, but it might be pushed till the Parliament reconvenes after the summer break in September 2018.

Till the GDRP has been written into Norwegian law, PersonopplysningslovenLOV 2000-04-14 nr 31: Lov om behandling av personopplysninger, is in effect.

The exclusive jurisdiction for any claim or dispute with XMIR or relating in any way to your use of the XMIR grid or website is subject to the laws of the Kingdom of Norway. Conflict resolution court is Jæren Tingrett, Olav V's Plass 1, 4301 Sandnes, Norway.
